There is a new law going into effect on April 22 that affects any contractor working on houses built in 1978 and earlier. It's the new lead paint law that prohibits anyone (company) from working on these houses without first being EPA certified. Make sure that anyone working on your home is certified so that you and your family isn't exposed to unnecessary lead poisoning.
Certified contractors will do tests to determine if there is lead present and take proper precautions for your safety and theirs'. Failure to do so could result in health risks and stiff fines.
